To fit in with the seasonal Celtic calendar and to celebrate the Autumnal Harvest time of the year, Brigit’s Garden organised all PLANT workshops during a full day of workshops during ‘Herb Day’ on Sunday 19th October
Intentions for the day were;
- To involve local community networks of herb specialists and enthusiasts
- To raise awareness of the Gardens
- To showcase the PLANT project
- To offer talks and workshops on;
- Herbs – characteristics, cultivation and traditional use as remedies
- Alternative useage of medicinal herbs
- Impact & sustainability – ideas for further activities in order to use the knowledge gained
- To encourage inter-generational dialogue about herbs
- To inspire people in learning what nature has to offer
- To engage adults and children with creative activities to learn about herbs
